Hymn: Where He Leads UMH 338 Call To Worship Liturgist Written by Ruth C. Duck, in Bread for the Journey, edited by Ruth C. Duck (Pilgrim Press, 1981), 35-36. LEADER: A great teacher once said, “When Jesus Christ calls us, he bids us come and die” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship). We are the people who have responded to this call. LEFT SIDE: Through Christ, we want to die to the fears that keep us from loving. RIGHT SIDE: Through Christ, we want to die to the stubbornness that keeps us from sharing our gifts. LEFT SIDE: Through Christ, we want to die to seeking our own success and salvation in disregard for the good of all God’s children. RIGHT SIDE: This is God’s promise, that if we die with Christ, we will also rise with Christ. ALL: God be praised for the glorious promise of new life in Christ. Alleluia. The Reading of the Psalm 63:1-8 Liturgist Hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness UMH 140

Prayer of Confession Liturgist All: Forgive us, Lord, for our preoccupation with things; for believing we would be happy if we only had more; for neglecting family in the pursuit of advancement; for giving low priority to the kingdom of God; for judging right and wrong on the basis of profit; for allowing discontent to cloud our lives; for pampering the body while starving the soul. With cries and petitions, we call out to you in the midst of our hurting. In the agony of our pain, we reach for you. In the turmoil of our brokenness, we plead for your healing touch. Save us, God. Save us from death, illness, pain, depression, economic oppression, racial inequity, fear, loneliness, violence and hate. We accept your grace and providential care for us in every area of life and cling to your assurance of love and acceptance. Forgive us, Lord, for our preoccupation with the things of the world, and enable us to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Words of Assurance Liturgist Liturgist: Know that God always goes with us. Know that God is always there to lead us, guide us, forgive us, comfort us and encourage us. Know that God is always near to us, now and forever. Amen. Today we pray for…. Rev. Shana Dry After each prayer request read: Pastor: Lord in your mercy, All: Hear our Prayer The Pastor will lift any prayers that have been made known to the office. You can submit a prayer request by going to http://www.tahlequahumc.org/prayerrequest After each request the pastor will respond with Lord, Hear this prayer. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Praise God, From Whom All Blessings Flow UMH 95 We Make Our Offering Together Mission Moment Thank you for your new or continued generosity towards God’s mission at Tahlequah UMC. We ourselves have not always set our priorities on bearing good fruit, and yet you are a patient gardener. You have sent saints into our midst to make the soil richer, yet like the stubborn fig tree, good fruit has been scarce. May our journey this Lenten season feed our spirits to bring forth the fruit you desire. We pray in the name of our savior and redeemer, Jesus the Christ. Amen. Monday night’s at 6:30 p.m. Zoom Bible Study Group Register here: https://www.tahlequahumc.org/onlinegroups

New Study Starting 2/28/22 24 Hours That Changed The World by Adam Hamilton.

About the Book: No single event in human history has received more attention than the suffering and crucifixion

of Jesus of Nazareth. In this book. Adam Hamilton guides us through the last twenty-four hours of Jesus' life. Each chapter is designed to help the reader experience and understand the significance of Jesus' suffering and death in a way you have never done before. Whether readers are long-time Christians or simply curious about the story of Christ's crucifixion, they are invited to join the author in retracing the last 24 hours of Jesus' life.

Pastor Shana’s Lenten Study Info

Sunday March 6th at 11 a.m. Join Pastor Shana for an enlightening, thought-provoking study, Witness at the Cross, by Amy-Jill Levine.

Sign-up sheets are in the Narthex.

Zoom Option Sign Ups at https://www.tahlequahumc.org/onlinegroups

About the Study: The story of Jesus’s death is not something we just read: we think about it, and we experience it; we hear the taunts of the soldiers, the priests, and the passersby even as we hear the famous “seven last words” from the cross.

Beyond The Broken Heart

This class is good for anyone who has experienced loss or is grieving. Pastor Shana will be leading an eight-week support and grief ministry program, readers will find comfort and both spiritual and practical guidance during their grief journey. The Grief class will begin on March 8th.

We will offer 2 classes every Tuesday. One at 10am and one at 6pm.

This class will go for 6 weeks.

Grief is not a crisis of faith; it is a crisis of the heart.

New Photo Directory

Starting March 20th -April 3rd

We will have pictures taken in the Atrium for a New Photo Directory.

This will be an in-house project. The Cost will be $10.00 to help cover the cost of printing of the directory and other costs. You will be emailed a digital copy of your family picture for you to print at Walgreens or anywhere else you can print photos. If you are interested in helping with this, please let Pastor Matt know. Would You Like to Help

Camp Egan on April 9?

Sign Up by April 2.

We’re planning a church workday at Egan Camp and Retreat Center on Saturday, April 9th. We’ll leave the church at 8:00 am in convoy for those who don’t know how to get there. (We’ll take our cars so that folks can leave when they need to.) If anyone needs to arrive later, that’s not a problem.

If the weather’s nice, we’ll do some work on flowerbeds, rake walnuts and leaves, power wash the swimming pool, paint and number the disc golf “holes” or paint/stain the Founder’s House deck.

If the weather’s rainy or cold, we’ll paint inside the buildings, mount TV’s and sound system in the Tabernacle, and scrape and paint the A/C ducts in the dining hall.

These are a few of the tasks that need to be done. The tasks vary with whoever volunteers and whatever you/we feel comfortable doing and can be done with the time we have available. We won’t get it all done, but we’ll put a big dent in the list!

Lunch will be served at camp. A sign-up sheet is out in the Narthex. Let us know what you like doing, and we’ll try to match you with the right task.

Blessings,

George Warren,

FUMC Missions Coordinator and

Member of Egan Site Development Committee
