Upcoming TUMC Opportunities

Overeaters Anonymous meets Tuesday nights at 6pm

If you are interested in learning about the 12 Steps in Overeaters Anonymous, please join us.  The meetings are open and any person who wants to refrain from compulsive eating or eating behaviors is encouraged to attend.  The meetings are on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. in Room 323. Please use the side door off State Street and take the elevator up to the 3rd floor.

Missions Study   Feb. 11th from 9-2p.m. in the Atrium                           

Everyone is welcome to join us for our mission study, “Practicing Resurrection”, the Gospel of Mark and Radical Discipleship. A light lunch will be served. Mark, the earliest of the Gospels was written forty years after the crucifixion at a time when the early church was struggling. Then, as now, Christians were asking, what does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus. Come and learn and grow in the faith. A light lunch will be served. All Church Soup Social  Feb. 16th after Worship in the Activities Building  

On Feb. 16th Following Worship in the Activities Building. We will have a time of fellowship and tasting of many soups. If you make a great soup, bring it, share it and be a part of our soup cook-off.

C.A.R.E. Food Pantry annual fooddrive                                                         

This year’s drive will run from Jan. 26-Feb 9, 2020. Items needed this year are, dry pinto beans, canned vegetables, jelly, and canned soup.

Senior Adult Ministries Kickoff Gathering Potluck   March 1st After Worship

We are kicking off a new ministry that looks to create a Senior Adult Ministry. If you want to be a part of this group join us on March 1st after worship in the Atrium for a time of fellowship, potluck, and planning on what this new ministry can do. Help Circle of Care During Lent      Lent Starts Feb. 26th

Help Circle of Care support local foster families! During Lent, there will be a pack-n-play set up in the narthex to fill up with supplies that will help families in the Tahlequah/Gore/Muskogee areas. We are looking for donations of suitcases in good condition, ethnic Barbie’s and toys, diapers, wipes, pull ups, and other baby supplies (except clothes). 

Join our Relay for Life Team

The Relay for Life will be on Saturday, May 30 (5/30/20) from 3p.m.-9p.m. at the Hulbert City Park. The Survivor Dinner will be Tuesday, April 7 (4/7/20) at 6:00 p.m. at the Indian Vo-Tech in Tahlequah. Please join our team either by becoming a team member or by supporting us financially. Mission Trip Opportunity

McCurdy Ministries (Española, NM) March 28-April 4, 2020

Tentative Schedule

Depart from Tahlequah UMC at 8:00am on March 28

Return to church about 10:00pm on April 4

Estimated Cost$400/ person (final cost depends upon the number of volunteers going) to cover lodging and meals at McCurdy, travel and registration expenses

Out-of-pocket expenses: to cover 10 meals on the road, touring and souvenirs, other personal purchases

Background Check through local church (if your latest was before April 1, 2017)

$100 non-refundable deposit due by December 6, 2019 make check to Tahlequah United Methodist Church in MEMO line, write “DR803-McCurdy”

2020 Green Country District Training

February 15th from 9:30am – 2:30pm

at Claremore FUMC

The District training event is something I look forward to every year. This year there are a lot of good things happening that you can attend. If you want to go but have questions about what class, you should attend please talk to Pastor Matt and I will help you discern what might be best.
