Dr. Schneider is a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a degree in
Business Management. His graduate degrees are a Master of Divinity
Degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in
Deerfield, Illinois and a Doctor of Ministry degree with an emphasis in
Pastoral Counseling from Drew University in New Jersey. He has done
post doctoral study at the University of Oklahoma in marriage and family
therapy and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Dr. Schneider's previous appointments include
Wesley United Methodist Church in El Reno (eight years), Church
of the Shepherd in Tulsa (seven years), Nowata First (eight years),
and Seminole First (four years).
Program strengths in the
churches Dr. Schneider has served are evangelism, discipleship, and
family enrichment. He enjoys leading workshops and has developed a
parenting workshop entitled: “The T.R.A.I.N. Approach to Christian
Parenting.” He is a certified presenter for the Michelle Weiner-Davis,
Marriage
Breakthrough program and is certified to do adoption home
studies in the state of Oklahoma.
During Dr. Schneider’s tenure
at El Reno Wesley UMC, the congregation with God’s help paid off Phase I
of their building program and initiated, completed, and paid for Phases
II and III. While at Seminole he helped lay the foundation for a church
relocation, site purchase, architectural development, and initial fund
raising.
Some of his community
involvements are Call Rape in Tulsa, Post Adjudication Review Board in
Canadian County, Ethics Committee of Parkview Hospital in El Reno,
Project Goals committee of Redlands Community College, and court
mandated counseling in Seminole and Canadian counties. In Nowata he was
an adjunct professor in behavioral science at the Oklahoma Wesleyan
College.
The Family
Dr. Schneider’s wife, Kristi,
a certified special education teacher, was the first teacher for the
Little Light House, a school in
Tulsa for special needs
children. While at El Reno she taught the 4 and 5 year olds, “Cubby
Bears for Jesus,” as a part of the church’s Wednesday evening program of
dinner, classes, and choir practices. Kristi helps staff FASTimes
(Fun After School Times) at the church on Tuesday afternoons and other
projects around the church.
Beth
has an
Associate of Arts degree from Redlands Community College and is
pursuing a drama degree at Northeastern State University. She enjoys
community theatre and working with children.
John
attends community college in Oklahoma City. John is an excellent guitarist and plays with a youth
dominated praise band in
El Reno on Sunday nights. He is
presently restoring a 1966 Ford Truck, does wake boarding and skiing,
and likes biking and carpentry. He has served on several Volunteer in
Mission projects doing roofing with Youth Force in Lawton.
Family times for the Schneider
family include camping in
Colorado, extended family
activities like jungle ping pong, and group activities with the church
family, schools, and community. Dr. Schneider enjoys working out and
playing pool.
